Truly my morning mantra has become something along the lines of "I wish I didn’t have to care about any of them." They don't think about me, particularly, so why am I thinking about them? Because their existence is a serious threat to my simply existing. Thanks for the recommendation of Warner's new book, will be adding to my growing list.

Yeah, billionaires need to be constrained, not accomodated, as they progress from personal power games to becoming characters in an Ayn Rand novel, playing with governments instead of markets. The SV supervillians are chasing the high of being treated as wizards who conjur magik out of computers that is embedded in our lives, with the side benefit of raining money down on them. They all have "keeping score" money, so power is what matters to them now, power and respect.
