"Why the Future Never Arrives" has a publisher!

Hi folks,

A bit of personal news:

I started writing this Substack to work out ideas for the book project. This is now my 116th Substack post. It seems I had a lot of ideas to work out.

I’m thrilled to be working with Merry Sun at Norton on this project. And my agent, Leila Campoli, has been doing an amazing job helping to bring it all together. I think this book is going to be something special.

Mark Twain once said that history doesn’t repeat itself, but it rhymes. That’s basically the subtext of the book. The promise of the abundant future that today’s tech titans insist is just around the corner (so long as no one criticizes or regulates them) is not new. We’ve heard these stories before. We can take lessons from how it turned out last time, and use those lessons to build a better future.

Regularly-scheduled blogging will return next week. I’ve got some fun pieces in the pipeline. But today I just want to share this good news.
